The Juvenile and Camogie Clubs celebrated a “Double” success
on Saturday, 3rd September, 2011. The
Under 13 hurlers faced Crecora in the County Final at Claughaun. Crecora
dominated the opening fifteen minutes and took control with an early point and
subsequent goal. However, Patrickswell turned the game around with a devastating
blitz at the end of the half. After John Flynn registered the first point for
Patrickswell, Jordan Higgins and Darragh Ahern both scored incredible goals to
claim the lead. Within a few minutes, Jordan Higgins scored his second goal of
the match to establish a 3-1 to 1-1 advantage at the interval.
Patrickswell continued to press forward in the second half. The boys added four
points before Darragh Ahern clinched his second goal to put the ‘Well 4-5 to 1-1
ahead. Crecora staged a late revival in the closing ten minutes and put a
respectable 4-6 to 2-3 gloss on the final score. There were joyous scenes as
players, management, parents and supporters celebrated the victory. Captain John
Flynn accepted the trophy on behalf of Patrickswell. The team was J. Gillane, C.

Kelly, G. Carey, C. Kirby and D. Buston. The management team were Paddy Flynn,
Frank Dillon, Willie Leahy, Richie Maher and Mike Quinn. First Aid was provided
by Michael Joyce. |
