(Report Courtesy of James McCarthy, PRO):
The Junior A hurlers collected their first piece of silverware by winning the City League final against Crecora. The 'Well were on the back foot after fifteen minutes as Crecora built a 0-6 to 0-4 advantage. From that point onwards, Patrickswell began to gain the upper hand. Jason Gillane struck a trio of points to close the deficit to 0-8 versus 0-7. In the last minute of the first half, Jamie Dillon's speculative long-range shot was fumbled by the goalkeeper and Patrickswell led by 1-7 to 0-8 at the interval.

The second half was completely dominated by Patrickswell. Within ten minutes of the restart, there was a flurry of points from Jason Gillane, Owen McNamara and Cillian O'Reilly. The margin grew to six points at 1-13 to 0-10 and the 'Well never looked back. In the closing stages, there was great shooting accuracy as Nigel Carey's team racked up another eight points. The final result was 1-21 to 0-12. Gary Murphy accepted the City League trophy that was retained from last year.
